Bass Harmonica

Made by Victory in Japan, this is a copy of the famous Hohner bass harmonica, only much cheaper. It is a split-level harp with mostly 'white keys' on bottom and 'black keys' on top. You can sound somewhere between the Harmonicats and a tug boat. My friend Paul Mertens who used to play with me in an early version of the Archer Prewitt band now plays one of these (as well as flute and multiple saxophones) with Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boy’s fame). He has stories of standing around backstage with Brian, Paul Simon, and Paul McCartney chatting about their gardens. Seriously!
